If you’ve been following this blog for the past year, you may remember that one of my resolutions this year was to reduce the size of my closet and be more mindful about investing in items that will enhance my current wardrobe. When you love clothes as much as I do, that can be a hard goal to accomplish. One way that I’ve managed to add “fun” items to my wardrobe without spending tons of money is by participating in clothing exchanges with my sisters, which is how I came to acquire this lovely striped sweater that used to belong to Alejandra. It’s really funny to think that we all used to get frustrated whenever our parents would buy us matching outfits as kids, and now we’re trading clothes with each other.
I would like to say that I intentionally wore an orange snood to add a pop of color to this outfit, but I actually wore it because it’s extremely warm and cozy. I usually put much more thought into the outfits I photograph, but I spontaneously decided to take these pictures during a short study break. Although I usually don’t gravitate towards pieces in the color orange because I feel that they make me look like a pumpkin, I do think it’s a great color for accessories, especially in the fall.
I hope you all have an amazing week ahead of you! I have so much work to accomplish before the week ends, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel because I’m flying back to L.A. Thursday evening. I know I haven’t been away for too long, but I’m very excited to see friends and family and hang out at some of my favorite spots.

ADORE your outfit (so fall! all you need is a pumpkin spice latte!). The orange snood is the perfect accessory and so on point with fall colors. Love this (and the leaves for your backdrop!).

I absolutely love burnt orange. It's the perfect fall/winter color. Not too bright, nor is it too dark. Pairing with B&W, it's really nice. You look adorable.

This scarf is so cute!! Would love to hear more about your closet downsizing process. I've been doing the same all year and feel like it's dragged on for the last 6 months or so.

It's been a pretty lengthy process for me as well. What's really helped me is cleaning out my wardrobe each season and sorting things into clothes I want to donate, clothes I want to wear that season, and clothes that I'm not too sure about. If I'm not sure about certain pieces, I store them away and give myself some time to think about whether I really want them or not. It's not the most efficient process, but I have gotten rid of so much stuff!

A goal for me this year was to minimize my closet and my clothes spending too. These are all such classic pieces that you're wearing. I love a good burnt orange in the Fall time 🙂

Having sisters definitely helps when you want to trade clothes, but you can also organize clothing exchanges with friends. It's a really great idea for a party. 😀
