The time has come for me to say goodbye to 2016. If there’s anything that this year has taught me is to be patient and ride the wave when life throws difficult situations your way. I spent a good chunk of this year not being in the best place. I often felt anxious, stressed, homesick and a bunch of other emotions. Having to adjust to life in a new place, learning to be on my own, building new relationships, and a crazy election year did not help the situation at all.

But through all that, there were many good times. This past year, I’ve made many new friendships which I hope to continue to cultivate in the new year. Moreover, I have learned to cherish old friends and family even more. I also finally started to feel like I was making progress in my career goals, and that dropping everything I was doing to attend grad school was worth it. So, here’s to 2017 being another year of growth and progress!
