Winter Military Style Coat

Snow Day Military Style Coat

Winter Snow Day in Portland Snow in Portland // Military Style Coat Military Style Coat and Olive Pants Military Style Coat - Winter Snow Winter Snow in Portland

I took advantage of the snow a few weeks ago to photograph this military style coat. I’ve had this coat for a few years and it’s one of my favorite winter pieces. However, you wouldn’t be able to guess that because of how little I wear it. Unfortunately, the constant rain in Portland prohibits me from rotating my winter coats around. You’ll probably find me running around in my rain jacket on most days, just trying to stay dry.

Now, enough about the weather and let’s get back to talking about this coat. I love pieces that make a statement and stand the test of time, and I think this coat does just that! It’s also one of those pieces that is very versatile. You can wear it like I did here for a more preppy look. You can also go for a retro mod look like I did in this post. Or, if you want to channel your inner rocker, you can put on a pair of distressed jeans, ankle boots and a white tee. The outfit possibilities are endless, really.

The other two pieces in this outfit are some that don’t get too much love from me either. My mom gifted me this cowl neck sweater a while back, and I had never worn it until recently. I thought the length made me look a little short, but it’s nothing that a pair of ankle pants and heels won’t fix.

Speaking of ankle pants, I’m hoping to get more use out of this pair from Gap as we transition into spring. I bought them for my trip to South America but haven’t worn them much since. I think part of the reason is that I don’t really know what to wear them with. So, if anybody has any suggestions as to how I can style them, please feel free to give me some advice in the comments below.
