Happy Monday, my friends! I hope you’re all having fun this Holiday season. I’m personally enjoying having my first real break in quite some time. I know there are people who go crazy when they don’t have work or something to do, but that’s not me. I like having free time to just lounge, relax and explore.
Speaking of exploring, I wore this outfit last week for an early morning coffee and window shopping date with my sister Ale. We visited my favorite coffee shop Copa Vida and walked around Old Pasadena. As is typical of SoCal winter, you can expect very chilly mornings and slightly warmer temperatures throughout the day, so it makes sense to layer up if you’re headed out early in the day. This oversize coat (recently worn here
) was the only extra layer I needed to keep me warm and cozy as we strolled around. I also layered on this gorgeous handmade wrap by Knit by Design
, which is one of the softest most luxe things I’ve ever owned. My mom was even admiring it when I wore it the other day.
With all this talk about layers, you might be saying to yourself that this doesn’t look much different from something you’ve seen me wear in Portland. That’s probably true. Even though I spent my first night back home bragging about how LA weather felt so warm to me compared to the snow day we had just experienced in Portland, I have been quick to acclimate to my current environment. Plus, temperatures can be around 40 degrees in the mornings around here, so don’t let the sunshine fool you into thinking it’s that warm!
Since I put together a last-minute gift guide for the ladies, it only made sense to put one together for the guys as well. Hopefully you’ll find something for your boyfriend, brother, dad or any other guy you’re shopping for. Check out the links to my picks below:
1. I don’t know much about Whiskey, but luckily I have a sister who does and she recommended Sonoma Rhye Whiskey
. Of course, this would also make a great gift for any whiskey-loving gals in your life.
3. I linked to a pair of pajamas in my gift guide for her, so it made sense that I also include a pair of Flannel Pajamas
in this gift guide as well. I swear they are so comfortable!
4. A nice and warm scarf is necessary if you live in a cooler climate. I love that this Wool-Cashmere Scarf from Everlane is very stylish and versatile.
5. Speaking of pieces that are stylish and versatile, I think this Timex Andros Watch fits the bill. I love that the design is very modern and unique, but classic all at the same time.
6. A classic jacket will last for years. I really like this Gap + Pendleton Hooded Jacket.
While I told myself that I would have most of my Holiday shopping done by now, that is definitely not the case. I figured many of you would also be in the same boat, so I put together a fun gift guide for any women in your life that you still need to find gifts for. Check out the links to my picks below:
