    Smorgasburg LA

During my last trip back home to LA, I was finally able to check off Smorgasburg LA from my list of things to do. For those of you who are not from LA, you may be wondering what this is. Well, every Sunday Smorgasburg LA turns an empty parking lot into the place to be by bringing together an array of amazing food vendors and fun shops. But, let’s be honest, I was mainly there for the food. And while it was overwhelming to be surrounded  by so many options, I did manage to do my fair share of eating and was extremely satisfied with my picks. Keep on reading for a few of my recommendations.

I’m not the type of person to fall victim to crazes, especially when it comes to trends in food. After all, it took me years to finally bite into a macaron and discover how truly delicious they are. However, I knew that I had to make my way over to Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, the creators of the cruffin, when I started seeing photos of their awesome new Los Angeles location pop up on my social media feeds.  Who could say no to a place that advertises butter and is adorned in gold and pink? Not this lady, that’s for sure!

    Walt Disney Concert Hall

Casual dress with denim jacket - Walt Disney Concert Hall
    Photos by Ale Veyna
    Outfit Details:
    Denim Jacket (Similar)
    Gray Turtleneck
    Black Skirt (Similar)
    Madewell Bag (Similar)

Ale took these pictures of me when I was home in Pasadena last December. I had always wanted to take outfit photos at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and my sisters and I finally made our way over there after our visit to The Broad. Although this is a pretty simple outfit, the metallic walls of the Walt Disney Concert hall make me seem so much cooler, don’t ya think? All jokes aside, I really love how this ensemble is practical and comfortable, but still very cute. It’s perfect for days when I’m running all over town.

On a different note, if you’ve been regularly following this blog for these past two years, you know that I have always blogged consistently. That is why I have no idea how I’ve managed to completely forget about this space for these past few weeks. During this time, I was busy with work, school and searching for an internship. On top of that, I was an emotional wreck for various reasons. All those things combined left me with very little time to work on new posts.

The good thing about my break is that it’s made this whole blogging thing seem less routine. Although I still have two more weeks before finishing my first year of grad school, I’m hoping to be more present here once my schedule frees up a bit. In the meantime, you can always follow me in real time on Instagram.

    xoxo,
    Helen
