My friend Sara and I hung out this weekend and decided to go have a “photo shoot” in the red telephone booths located around the South Lake Avenue area of Pasadena. I was ridiculously excited to take pictures inside one of these red telephone booths because I have always wanted to visit London. Like many people, I have always associated red telephone booths with the city. Since I probably won’t be making a trip to England anytime soon, in the meantime I guess I can pretend that I have visited in these pictures.
One of the red telephone booths we found was located in Burlington Arcade, which is modeled after the original Burlington Arcade in London. The arcade hosts a variety of novelty shops and a cute cafe called Float that serves sandwiches and ice cream, and brews Handsome Coffee. Unfortunately, the cafe was closing up when Sara and I finally decided to step in. Although I did not get to try out what Float had to offer, the good thing is that it is now on my list of places to visit.
This photo shoot was super fun, and I’m really happy that I got to hang out with Sara this weekend. Sara is my friend from high school and, thanks to this blog, we recently reconnected after several years of not seeing each other. Sara reached out to me after seeing my blog posts on Facebook because she also shared my interest for fashion and blogging. After meeting up, we discovered that we had many other things in common as well. I have to say that I’m truly grateful that aside from serving as a creative outlet for me, this blog has allowed me to connect and reconnect with a wider group of people.
