I took these photos in two different locations because my friend Sara had volunteered to take my photos while we were out for coffee, but my camera’s battery died before we were able to get enough shots. Luckily for me, my Mom was kind enough to snap a few more–that was before my Dad intervened and said that he was going to start charging me for the use of his backyard. He was obviously kidding! But, if he weren’t, you really can’t blame anybody for trying to find potential business opportunities in this economy.

It’s so challenging for me, just as it is for many women, to find a bathing suit that fits well, and that is also in both my style and price range. Luckily for me, I stumbled upon this cute crop top while I was at Forever 21 the weekend before last, and had the marvelous idea of using it as a bathing suit top. It fits perfectly on me, and I love that it has that retro feel that I’ve been looking for. I’m super stoked to wear this when I visit my best friend Laura in San Diego at the end of this month, especially with the amazing beach weather that we’ve been getting in California. It’s hard not to get excited about hanging out with friends when they’ve moved away and you only see them in person a few times a year.
I’ve touched on the topic of friends moving away in a couple of posts. The reason I’m kind of revisiting that topic in this post, is because lately I’ve been thinking about the possibility of moving somewhere new. Although I’m not planning to move outside of the L.A. area, I’m such a creature of habit that just moving to a different neighborhood is scary for me. Even more terrifying, is the possibility of moving somewhere where I don’t know anybody. Although it’s not very apparent to people because I’m so reserved, I’m an extrovert and always feel the need to be around people even if I’m not interacting with them. I mean, I’m the type of person who goes and reads at a coffee shop because they get so anxious being home alone.
I’m slowly learning to be more open to change, and see it as a good thing. I need to accept the fact that I don’t always need to have a definite plan, and that doing spontaneous things can be fun and exciting. It’s all just part of growing up, I guess. I’ll definitely let you know how my plan to not have plan, progresses in the next few weeks.
Much Love,
Helen Grace
