Leather Jacket, Chambray Shirt and A Bit of Glam

Dark Red Lipstick and Leather Jacket

I’m finally getting around to posting the outfit I promised you all on Instagram a few weeks back. I recently wore this easy and cozy ensemble for a brunch date with my friend/gracious photographer Missie. I’ve been experiencing a style rut but trying not to spend money on clothes, so I’ve been bringing some pieces out of retirement. On this day, I decided to pick out this chambray shirt from the archives. I think the masculine vibe pairs perfectly with this thrifted faux leather jacket (also seen here). To finish off this look, I added a bit of sparkle with one of my favorite necklaces. I would definitely recommend this formula if you’re looking for an easy weekend look.

Speaking of feeling uninspired with my wardrobe, I’ve been in all sorts of ruts lately. Part of it is because there have been many exciting things happening. For one, I moved into my own little studio in a part of town that I love; I’m having so much fun decorating it and making it all my own! On top of that, it’s easier than ever for me to live without a car. To put that even more into perspective, I can walk to work now which has done wonders for my mental health.

With all these great things happening, I have been wondering why have I been so tired and uninspired lately. And, come to think about it, I think that preparing to move was very exhausting even if the end result has been fantastic. There’s also work. My fulltime job also involves digital marketing, photography, and tons of writing. Although those are all things I love, I’ve been very busy at work and it’s been hard to do that and also try to put the same amount of energy and creativity into my blog. I’ve even had to deactivate social media a few times just to eliminate additional distractions and get the rest I need. So, if you’ve noticed that I’ve taken a step back from this space, that’s why. I’m just trying my best to take care of myself before I burn out.

I don’t want to end this post on a negative note. Even though I’ve been feeling exhausted, I’m really proud of the fact that I can be self-aware and take the steps needed to regain my energy. I’ve been scheduling friend time, finding ways to be creative that don’t involve screen time and taking tons of bubble baths. I’d love to write a post on my self-care tips, but I’ll save that for another time. In the meantime, I’d love to hear your advice for avoiding burnout.
