New Orleans Summer Outfit
On my trip to New Orleans last week, I was prepared to endure some of the warmest and most humid weather. That is why I made sure to pack things that were light and provided enough ventilation. Of course, all while still making me look like I was trying.
While my go-to in insufferable weather is usually a “tent” dress, I switched things up on this trip. This light and breezy outfit was a good way for me to do that. The loose fit of these wide leg crops from Everlane is perfect because they don’t stick to your legs. I also try to stay away from sleeves as much as possible. This frilly cold shoulder top allowed me to do that without looking boring. Plus, I like that the frills and the subtle railroad stripes add just a bit of more movement and texture to this look.
You’ve seen me wear a boater hat a few times, but this one is a new addition to my wardrobe. I, unfortunately, lost my previous hat during my trip to Palm Springs earlier this year. You can say that was a blessing in disguise. This one is deeper and has a wider brim. That means it actually stays on my head and provides sun protection, which is what I intend it to do.
Life Lately
All in all, my trip to New Orleans was a blast and I definitely want to go back. It’s a city that I’ve wanted to visit for years, and it was wonderful to finally do so. I was there to celebrate my sister Sarah’s 21st birthday, so I definitely got to explore the bar and restaurant scene. I’ll share my travel diary with you in the near future, but you can also get a glimpse of the fun on my sister Ale’s blog.
In other exciting news, you might get to see more of me on the blog from now on. I’m not making any promises, but I do have some more free time now. I hadn’t really been at liberty to share, but I was on the job hunt these past few months, which took up quite a bit of time. I’m settled in a new position now and, hopefully, that means more time for play. I’ve felt so burnt out these past few months, but I feel like I’m ready to start creating again. So stay tuned for more fun things ahead!
