Ever since graduating from grad school and transitioning to a 9-5 this past year, I’ve been in a style rut. But lately, I’ve felt that I’m slowly getting the hang of dressing professionally in a way that reflects my personality.

My trick has been to combine pieces that I would wear on the weekend with more formal items, such as a blazer or dress pants. Doing this has taken off some of the pressure of purchasing a whole new wardrobe. Instead, I’ve purchased a few pieces to elevate those I already have.

An example of that is this fun dark floral jumpsuit and blazer combination. This outfit is comfortable and looks polished at the same time. It’s also a great option to wear out to happy hour with friends. And, if you want to dress it down a bit, all you have to do is trade the blazer for a denim jacket and problem solved!

Life Lately

I have to say that, lately, I’ve felt confident in more than just my wardrobe. After finally adjusting to all the recent transitions, I’m starting to feel settled. And that is really giving me space to focus on being healthy and happy.

Part of me has felt guilty for kind of abandoning this blog this year. But, to be honest, it’s been nice to take a break from constantly pushing content out. As some of you know, I work in marketing and primarily focus on writing and blogging. I’ve felt that in order to channel that creativity at work, I’ve had to step away from this. In a way, it’s been a preventative measure to avoid burnout.

All that being said, this space really does mean a lot to me. I just want to rethink how I can use it in the future. My plan moving forward is to find other ways to develop my talents away from a screen, but hopefully, I can continue to use this space to share all of that with you.
