    I made a trip to Austin, Texas this weekend and it’s a big deal because, prior to this trip, I hadn’t been outside of California in almost three years. Late last year I talked to several friends on many different occasions, who strongly suggested that I needed to make time to travel and focus on self-care. After much encouragement from my loved ones, I finally decided that I really needed to make an effort in 2014 to get out of town and explore new places.

    This year I decided that I wanted to wear something subtle and romantic for my Valentine’s Day outfit. I always think that wearing the traditional combination of red and pink makes me look more like a cupcake or dessert, rather than giving my outfit an air of romance. Therefore, instead I opted to wear a simple blue dress which I dressed up with heels and accessories. After all, we all have our own way of expressing love and romance.

    My best friend Laura visited me this past weekend, and we decided to make a trip down to the Los Angeles Arts District. Because we’ve been friends for so long, we have definitely fallen into a routine and always frequent the same places. Therefore, a trip to the Arts District was a great way for us to change things up a bit.
