Lotta from Stockholm Clogs
I know it’s Autumn, but I figured it would be okay to post another warm weather outfit since I could probably wear this if I were still living in Los Angeles. You could easily say that this outfit is another version of my summer uniform. It was so hot outside the last few days I was in Los Angeles that I couldn’t imagine wearing anything else but shorts and a t-shirt. What I like about this simple outfit combination is that it leaves room to highlight a few of my favorite accessories: the boater hat I’ve been wearing all summer, a cute vintage basket purse I purchased in Austin, and my trusty Lotta from Stockholm clogs.
Another reason that this outfit was on repeat all summer long was that these shorts from Madewell are the most flattering and comfortable pair of denim shorts I’ve ever owned. They have a higher rise, so they accentuate my waist and I don’t have to worry about pulling them up all the time. I also love that the length isn’t too short and you can actually fold or unfold the hem depending on your preference.

This dress is another gem from the mending pile I went through a couple of weeks ago. I got this dress for ridiculously cheap–I think it was about $5– because a few stitches had become undone in the lattice detail, leaving huge holes in the waist and back. I’m sure most people deemed this dress unwearable because of this reason, but I knew better. It literally only took me about five minutes to mend this dress by hand before it was wearable again. It’s such a great dress for summer because of the breathable fabric and loose fit. The best thing about this dress, in my opinion, is the lattice detail because it adds a cute touch to this simple dress and eliminates the need to add accessories. All I had to do was pair this dress with a pair of clogs before I was good to go.
