My Favorite Places to Buy Vintage in Portland

Vintage Suede Skirt and Chunky Cream Sweater // Portland winter and fall outfit.

Today, I’m taking you back to fall with this vintage suede skirt outfit. To me, this skirt serves as an example of how certain pieces can stand the test of time. It’s extremely versatile, looks great with other items in my closet (both new and old), and is in excellent condition. Funny enough, this $30 find still had tags on it when I bought it.

However, my love of vintage extends beyond this skirt. I love hunting down vintage because it gives me an opportunity to build my wardrobe with pieces that are one-of-a-kind. I also enjoy the thrill that comes with perusing through racks before finding the one gem that truly stands out. You just don’t get that kind of experience at a department store.

That brings me to my next point. As the title suggests, the purpose of this post is not for me to go on and on about my love for vintage clothing. Instead, in the spirit of keeping to my goal of writing about life in Portland (check out this other recent post), I want to share a few of my favorite Portland vintage clothing shops. Keep reading to learn what places I love to frequent both for inspiration and unique finds.

Portland Vintage Clothing Stores You Should Check Out // Vintage Suede Skirt and Chunky White Sweater

Portland Flea

Portland Flea is where I found this skirt, so it deserved to be first on my list. This unique event happens every third Thursday of the month in the parking lot of Rejuvenation. What I love about it is that there are many vintage vendors to choose from, each with their own unique curated collection. Therefore, you’re bound to find something that suits your taste. Thanks to Portland Flea’s convenient location and plenty of food vendors, you can also enjoy delicious food and drinks while you window shop.

Xtabay Vintage

I yearn for the day that I’ll have an excuse to actually purchase something from Xtabay vintage. This is your place to go if you’re looking for a beautiful dress to wear to a fancy event – such as a wedding or prom. Or, if you’re like me, you can just walk in there and browse for inspiration. This cute shop has beautiful displays and gorgeous dresses to fuel your wildest fantasies for days.

Artifact

It’s very rare for me to walk out of Artifact without purchasing anything at all. Most recently, I scored this super awesome vintage rattan picnic basket. However, Artifact also has a very well-curated clothing section to fit a variety of styles. Since they accept consignment, the selection here is constantly changing, so it’s worth checking out often. And, if you’re really into scoring deals, they also host a $1 Funday Flea once a month.

Adored Vintage

I’ve been following Adored Vintage on Instagram for years, which is why I was ecstatic when the owner Rodalee opened a brick and mortar here in Portland a few years ago. I just love the classic and romantic aesthetic this shop strives to deliver. While that brick and mortar has since closed, you can still shop Adored Vintage 1920s/1930s collection online.

Urbanite

I actually wrote about this place when I first moved to Portland when it used to be Grand Marketplace. Before it closed, Grand Marketplace was the home of many vintage vendors and local makers. It has since reopened under the name Urbanite. However, the feel is pretty much the same. Here, you’ll find many carefully curated booths featuring clothes, furniture, and housewares. While there are many great options to choose from, I find that Lyon Falls always has a pretty solid collection.

Mister Sister

I found Mister Sister by surprise, and I’m glad I did because I plan to visit this place often. This small shop is tucked away in a not so busy area of Hawthorne Street (although they are relocating soon). Although small in size, this shop doesn’t fail to offer plenty of amazing finds. On my first visit, I scored a really cute linen blazer for less than $20. They also have a very cute selection of vintage pieces for the little ones in your life. Some of the pieces were so adorable I almost walked out with clothes for babies I don’t even have yet.
